These pieces were slipcast in moulds I made from a model I designed and made. I wanted to experiment with surface decoration and slip and this shape was designed for that purpose. The patterns were inspired purely from the way the porcelain slip behaved. It was like very thick, slow, liquid chocolate and when poured would go into little wiggles at the end. Because it poured slowly and dried quickly, it left patterns in the moulds that I picked out with oxides. I especially like the copper because it leeches out a bit into the glaze.
